My name is Gary Fath and I have worked here at New Durham Estates for over 30 years. My parents, Mel & Thelma Fath are the original owners. It has been a lot of fun watching this community grow from the very beginning.

I graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelors Degree in Small Business Management and an Associates Degree in HVAC Technology.  After graduation I decided to come back and work here at New Durham Estates. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Over the years, I have focused my efforts on growing the community and building relationships.

I am the son of Gary and Annette Fath and my grandparents are Melville and Thelma Fath, the original owners of New Durham Estates.  Growing up around a family oriented business has been a thrill and journey.  I can remember working at the hardware store as a young boy with my “Do It Best” vest on cleaning shelves and organizing products.  What I found most exciting was being able to use the copy paper to create drawings and sketches to post in everyone’s office.  As I grew older, I started getting involved with park maintenance laying sod, trimming bushes and grass, and coating roofs.

After high school, I followed Gary’s foot steps and attended Ferris State University majoring in HVAC/R Engineering Technology.  The program gave me excellent knowledge in HVAC troubleshooting, system design, and energy auditing for commercial and residential systems.  I was able to get involved in many student organization that helped grow me as person and taught me the skills to help others grow.  While attending Ferris State University, I learned the importance of putting others before myself and by growing people you yourself grow through the experience.

When graduation day came, I decided without hesitation to work for TDIndustries a commercial plumbing and HVAC contractor in Texas.  At this point in my life, I was eager to get on the ground and start running with my career.  At TDIndustries, I learned the importance of servant leadership, and that each individual is important to society.  We live in a very chaotic and imperfect world and everyone needs people to help them grow as a leader.

Eventually, I became a project manager and focused on commercial office buildings and church construction.  The experience enabled me to work with many people and I was able to gain team building skills.  TDIndustries was without a doubt a great place to work, and it was a tough decision to leave.  I guess this is why it has been the top 100 best companies to work for over the last 14 years.

Upon moving home, I was finally able to spend time with my family on a regular basis.  My family is the main reason for traveling back home.  Over the last few months, I have been focused on working with our team to help grow the community and trying to learn as much as possible about our industry.  It has been a great journey, and I am excited to continue to grow relationships with those in the community.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth (Fath) Romanchek. I am the daughter of Gary and Annette Fath. My grandparents are Melville and Thelma Fath, original owners of New Durham Estates. I have grown up being a part of this family business since I was a young girl. Growing up my siblings and I would go to the office with my dad and pretend to be a secretary. We would also help dust the shelves in the hardware store. As I entered high school I was hired to clean the main office and a variety of homes throughout the community. Now, I am a Housing Consultant for New Durham Estates.

I attended Westville Schools K-12. After graduating from Westville High SchooI, I decided to attend The University of Southern Indiana. It was my first time living away from home. During the four years I lived in Evansville, IN I had a lot of fun and met some lifelong friends. I graduated from USI in 2009, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. After graduation, I was ready to move back home.

When I moved back to Westville, I was still not sure what I really wanted to do. I looked around at a couple different job opportunities, but decided to stay here at New Durham Estates. I have always enjoyed working for the family business. My family and I get along really well and we care so much about the community and all the residents that live here. We are very thankful to have such long-term employees that we can count on. Everyone is like “family” to us at New Durham.

Since working here I have gotten to know many residents. This is a community that I am proud to be a part of and to call my home. Without my grandparents having the great “idea” to start this community, I would not have this wonderful place the raise my family. I am married to Scott Romanchek and we have two children, Aiden and Ella. We have two dogs, Daisy & Duke. Being a mom and working here has been and continues to be a wonderful experience.

My name is Wendi Earley and I have worked at New Durham Estates for over 18 years.  In 1995, I graduated college with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.  I entered the legal field shortly thereafter.  One of my client’s was New Durham Estates. They offered me a job in 1996.  Initially, I was part of the sales team at New Durham Mobile Home Sales.  Currently, I am the Community Manager and a Sales Consultant.

New Durham Estates is a premier community in Northwest Indiana.  I am proud to be part of a family-owned local business.  We promote the community as a safe and friendly place to call home.

Salt Creek Community Manager/New Durham Hardware Manager:  Brian Barker


Brian graduated from Purdue University.  He has been part of New Durham Estates for 10 years working in maintenance, the hardware store, and managing Salt Creek Estates in Portage, Indiana.  He can lend a helping hand with finding parts, tools, etc. for repairs on manufactured homes.  Also, feel free to contact Brian regarding replacing your manufactured home doors and windows.

Accounts Payable Specialist:  Stacey Knight


Stacey has worked in the tax and accounting industry for the last 15 years. She believes there is always something new to learn. Her journey brought her to us in July 2012 and she looks forward to the road ahead with the New Durham Estates community.
