Since 1967, New Durham Estates has been a family-owned and operated manufactured home community by the Fath Family. It all began when Mel and Thelma Fath saw a future where they could build something of their own. From there, New Durham Estates has grown, phase by phase, and today accommodates sites for 391 single-family homes.
Now, the third generation continues the family legacy. Being family-owned is a significant part of New Durham Estates’ story. It is also a huge part of how they serve their residents. The philosophy of treating employees and residents as family has always been of the utmost importance. Having lived and raised their family here, they know firsthand what it means to call New Durham Estates home. That’s why they have built a community where residents and staff feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for.

We often hear that the neighbors are what makes New Durham Estates feel like home. In a past resident spotlight, we sat down with residents Holly and Mike and asked, “How has living here made your daily life easier or more enjoyable?”
Holly shared, “When we first moved in, I’d be sitting outside in the morning with my coffee, and cars would go by and slow down. I’d think, “Oh, I don’t know them.” And they’d just yell out their window — “Hi! I’m so-and-so, welcome!” To this day, cars will still stop, and people will just talk. Mike will look at me and say, “Who was that?” and I’ll say, “I have no idea.” But they stopped, and they talked. It’s just that kind of place.”
